Sandbanks Ferry Timetable:


Leaving Sandbanks (on the Poole - Bournemouth side)

Leaving Sandbanks at 07:00 then 20 & 40 minutes after each hour and on the hour until 23:00


Leaving Shell Bay (on the Studland - Swanage side)

Leaving Shell Bay at 07:10 then 30, 50 and 10 minutes past each hour until 23:10


The times above are daily throughout the year except for Christmas day but there are subject to shipping movements, essential maintenance and other operational factors and should be taken as a guide only.


Sandbanks Ferry Prices:



(one way charge from Sandbanks)


Pedal or Motor Cycles




Light van, most camper vans, mini buses up to 17 seats


Goods vehicles max 3500kg


Bus or coach (18 or more seats)



All prices are one way and include all passengers in the vehicle. The toll booth is on the Shell Bay side of the crossing so when travelling from Sandbanks to Shell bay you pay when you get off the ferry, and when travelling from Shell Bay to Sandbanks you pay before you get on the ferry. Payment must be in cash, debit or credit cards are not accepted.
